Position: Work Integrated Learning Coordinator (1 Year Contract)

Department: Sobey School of Business

Salary: $31,000 - $33,000 per annum + 4% in lieu of vacation

Under the direction of the Manager, Graduate Career Services, the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Coordinator works to support the experiential learning opportunities for our graduate students.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Duties as the Work Integrated Learning Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

Administration -

  • Managing Career 360 (ORBIS) student activities, events and employers willing to hire interns and students.
  • Managing/enhancing the Graduate Career Services Dashboard and Student Tracker.
  • Managing social media strategy/communications for Graduate Career Services.
  • Coordinating and managing Corporate Tours.
  • Working with the Manager, Graduate Career Services, assisting in the organization of Career Fairs, and Employer Information Sessions and PD/Career Workshops.
  • Collating and producing of bi-weekly newsletter.
  • Assisting with or taking the lead on special projects as and when required.
  • Managing and maintaining GCS Website, Social Media Accounts, and other platform subscriptions.

Work Integrated Learning Support -

  • Coordinating employer network with central careers.
  • Supporting Manager with on-boarding of intern(s) to ensure a smooth transition into the workplace.
  • Maintaining regular communications with employers to ensure intern / employer satisfaction.
  • Attending employer events as required.
  • In coordination with Manager, Graduate Career Services - Developing partnerships with industry intermediaries and associations to facilitate internship/employment opportunities for our Graduate Students.
  • Working with Manager to develop programs that will enhance employer relations and Graduate Student experience
  • Working with Manager to develop a broader communication strategy, with specific focus on articulating the value and benefit of Sobey Graduate Students.
  • Where appropriate - assisting with writing and posting job descriptions.

What you'll need

Qualifications

To be the successful Work Integrated Learning Coordinator you will possess completion of post-secondary education (degree or diploma) in business, human resources, marketing/sales or a related field in addition to two (2) years' recent and related experience in small to medium business management, human resources, marketing and/or administration. You are service oriented and have exceptional organizational skills and administrative capacity to work in a busy, multidimensional environment. As a bonus, you have the ability to develop, facilitate and lead workshops, meetings and/or training experiences in combination with an exceptional ability to build and maintain a professional network. You further demonstrate excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities independently and within a team. Skills in effective use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Publisher, Excel, Word and PowerPoint), Eventbrite, Mailchimp, Qualtrics, Canva and social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn) and the ability to maintain databases will round out your qualifications in this position.
