Halifax Water is hiring for the job of Wet Weather Program Manager. This is a regular opportunity in the Engineering and Capital Infrastructure Department and has full time hours.
What the Wet Weather Team does:
- Focuses on the assessment of wet weather impacts on the wastewater collection system
- Plans assessment activities such as flow monitoring smoke testing and CCTV inspections
- Compiles and analyzes various data sources to recommend and coordinate rehabilitation strategies
- Monitors, analyzes and reports on rehabilitation project results.
As a Wet Weather Program Manager, you will:
- Oversee Halifax Water's rainfall derived inflow and infiltration (RDII) and sewer separation programs and other wet weather management initiatives.
- Be responsible to play a leadership role in the strategic planning and implementation of these programs for the wastewater and combined systems.
- Work cross-functionally with other teams within Engineering & Capital Infrastructure, Environment, Health & Safety, and Operations to set and achieve wastewater and combined flow reduction to support general operation of the systems and strategic goals of the Integrated Resource Plan (IRP).
To do this job, you need:
- A post-secondary education in Engineering (civil, municipal, environmental, or equivalent).
- A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and be eligible for membership with Engineers Nova Scotia.
- Five years of engineering experience with a focus on municipal infrastructure, data review and analysis and report writing.
- Experience with inflow and infiltration, and project management in the areas of planning, design, and implementing capital projects for municipal systems.
- Experience working with or on multi-disciplined teams for strategic initiatives.
