Development & Donor Relations and the Wallace McCain Institute

The Office of Development Donor Relations (DDR) is a unit within the Advancement portfolio, responsible for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of private donations made to the University of New Brunswick.

WHAT WE OFFER

Full-time | 2-Year Term | Fredericton | Hybrid (with the possibility of Remote)

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week

Salary Range: $65,984 - $85,775 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the CEO of WMI & the Executive Director of DDR, the Campaign Manager oversees strategic engagement and campaigns. This position also organizes fundraising and awareness events while building important relationships both internally and externally to the UNB community.

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, foundations, and corporations to support the organization.
  • Leverage research on identified prospects to create strategies to match prospects' interests to the Wallace McCain Institute campaign priorities.
  • Manage volunteer engagement efforts to maximize volunteer experience, including the fundraising campaign cabinet members.
  • Plan and manage special fundraising activities and events.
  • Organize and coordinate events geared to prospective and existing donors and profile the impact of the WMI and the philanthropic support it receives.
  • Represent the WMI in targeted community activities, fostering impactful connections to enhance the organization's outreach.
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the WMI campaign cabinet chair and volunteers.
  • Contribute to the development of campaign materials, donor profiles, meeting briefs, and other operational documents.
  • Research, write, edit, and manage the preparation of persuasive and accurate solicitations, proposals, case statements, reports, correspondence, and other development-related communication materials in support of the campaign and fundraising activities.
  • Draft fundraising correspondence, proposals, grant applications, web content, and social media content to communicate the campaign message consistently and engage the community and donors regularly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A University Degree in a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in fundraising, event management, sales, business development, non-profit management, public relations, marketing, or a related field.

Additional Strengths

  • Experience in volunteer and/or project management is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience in managing events and other complex activities in support of development objectives.
  • Ability to secure major grants and gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other private funding sources.
  • Ability to plan and implement long- and short-range development initiatives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with academic leadership, faculty, prospects, donors, and/or volunteers in a wide range of roles.
  • Ability to conduct research, gather data, analyze information, and prepare effective, accurate, and timely reports.
  • Strong database management skills.
  • Strong organizational, program planning, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships within a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse community and address a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and to use discretion in interactions with donors, prospects, volunteers, and others.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
