• Completing deliveries and pick-ups with tractor-trailer trucks, primarily in Atlantic Canada
• Transporting materials between IMG facilities
• Maintaining a pre-determined schedule and, when required, assisting in finalizing schedule and proactively communicating schedule changes to customers
• Loading and unloading most of the loads with a forklift and/or hand-bombing some smaller loads
• Strapping, un-strapping, and rebuilding loads that have multiple drops and pick-ups
• Doing pre-trip inspection on truck, filling log book, keeping track of work hours and remaining work hours daily,
• Being always attentive to the truck and trailer for any parts that might need to be replaced, any problems, things that might need replacement soon, making arrangements to get basics fixed, or letting assigned people know about more significant problems
• Dealing with breakdowns in the most efficient and safe way possible
• Doing shunting and deliveries/pick-ups at our off-site warehouses
• Representing the company in the best way possible, giving the best customer service, dealing with customer issues by putting the right people in contact, and tailoring to customers' needs as much as possible while remaining efficient
• Following all rules, policies, and procedures while operating the lift truck to ensure your personal safety and the safety of others around you; completing the start-of-shift lift truck safety inspection checklist
• Following all DOT and highway rules, laws, regulations, and all other company policies that apply to ensure your safety, the safety of yard or job site workers, and of all public while on the roads
• Dealing with and/or reporting to the Traffic coordinator any problems or discrepancies regarding breakdowns issues with trucks, issues with the content of the load, customer issues, etc.
• Performing all other duties as assigned

• 3 - 5 years experience as a trucker; having experience with multiple stops, short-haul trucking
• Valid Class 1 license with air brake is required
• Successful completion of driver training course is an asset
• Ability to follow oral and written directions
• Proven ability to maintain positive behaviors in stressful situations or when dealing with irate customers
• Ability to lift loads of up to 75lbs
• Experience with Lift Truck operations and/or having Lift Truck training would be an asset
• Demonstrated ability to follow safe work practices
• Experience in driving flatbed trucks and dealing with delicate loads
• Being able to function well in a team environment and having good oral and written communication skills
• Being flexible and able to deal with changing demands and a very fast-paced environment
• Having strong customer service acumen, skills, and experience
• Self-motivated with a strong ability to work with minimal supervision
• Being mechanically inclined
• Ability to work long hours, being away from home for extended periods of time
• Ability to prioritize and organize work
• Punctual and reliable
