If you have a strong educational background in Electronics, and are looking to apply these skills and learn new ones, we now have an opening in our Production Engineering Team.

The responsibilities of the role include:

Developing and implementing test methodologies and plans to the electronic sub-assembly level;

Developing Product Test Strategies and Solutions, as well as Automated Test Development and Strategies;

Provide support and direction internally, and act as expert for Nautel for all Regulatory Compliance related activities;

Research and communicate regulatory compliance related requirements and how they impact Nautel;

Be aware of changes occurring internationally that are compliance related;

Collaborating with others to determine the best Test Strategy approach;

Developing operator and Test Engineering training to support Production or Test, as well as creating & providing work instructions, policies and procedures;

Defining TPM/Preventative Maintenance programs for Test Solutions to minimize downtime;

Leading the advancement of Functional Test methodologies to ensure that Design for Test is built into NPI product design, and manufacturing and test processes are designed concurrently with new and modified products, working closely with Engineering;

Monitor and support the collection of data, both internal and external, to aid in strategic planning and involvement in execution of those plans;

Communicate with key stakeholders to define needs, while understanding product and test requirements;

Testing hardware and software designs within Nautel's New Product Introduction process to support product verification and launch;

Ensuring all safety and capability requirements are met within scope of role;

Working with outsourced or contract manufacturers;

Documentation on all aspects of Test Engineering;

Problem solving in a dynamic work environment;

Providing test support to other areas of the business, as well as assembly sub-contractors.

What you'll need

Qualifications

Qualifications and skills desired:

Electronics Engineering Technician/Technologist qualification (NSCC or equivalent), or Electrical Engineering Degree;

An understanding, and desire to continuously learn, regarding compliance-related issues relating to electronics products internationally;

An advanced understanding of trends in technology for automated test with, ideally, 5 years experience with automated test systems;

Project management experience would be an asset

Hands on electronics experience, including both hardware and software;

Knowledge of RF, analogue and digital circuits as well as equipment ventilation and cooling;

Experience with Test Equipment (Oscilloscopes, Signal and Network Analyzers)

Basic knowledge of algebra, statistics and database management for trend analysis.

Experience in development with NI LabVIEW, or other software systems used for automated test;

Experience with communication protocols (Serial, USB and Network)

Atlassian Jira and Confluence application experience would be an asset.

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;

Excellent, proven, verbal and written communications skills;

Understanding of Continuous Improvement and Lean methodologies and the desire to eliminate non-value added activity from related processes in a systematic way to increase productivity, would be an asset;

The ability to work effectively as part of a team; as well as independently.

Ability to execute in a professional manner while committing to priorities and due dates.

Experience with embedded systems in ANSI C, the Linux operating system and with RF or Microwave transmitters or transceivers would be considered an asset.
