The department of University Relations at Mount Saint Vincent University invites applications for the position of Term Student Recruitment Officer.
Classification: 8 Month, Full-time Term Contract Position
Salary: $46,022 per annum (prorated to reflect the contract term)

What you'll do
Responsibilities
The Student Recruitment Officer contributes to the execution of the student recruitment strategy, the dissemination of marketing and promotional materials, the execution of recruitment initiatives; and communication with prospective students, parents, guidance counselors and other stakeholders with professionalism and confidence. They recruit new students to the University by: attending in-person and virtual education fairs, responding to prospective student inquiries; working with students to complete the application process; planning; and making independent visits to regional feeder schools. They develop and maintain communications and relationships with prospective students and their families, guidance counselors, staff and faculty and other university stakeholders. The priority focus will be recruitment initiatives primarily in the Canadian high school market with potential for crossover into International markets, events for prospective students and their parents and working on initiatives to support other key markets including Indigenous students, and students of African descent.

You thrive in a team environment, are naturally competitive and your passion for sharing the benefits of the post-secondary experience and the Mount are unmatched. Effective communication, presentation and public speaking skills are needed for the promotion of University programs, services, financial considerations and expected outcomes to prospective students, parents, and educators. A strong commitment to excellent customer service and a dedication to building lasting relationships are also requirements of this position.
An undergraduate degree is required. The successful candidate must be knowledgeable about admission requirements and pre-requisites for academic programs. Strong time management and organizational skills are essential in this deadline-driven, multi-tasking environment. The successful candidate is comfortable working remotely and in a digital environment. This position may require evening and weekend hours, and travel when appropriate. Previous experience in student recruitment considered an asset. A current Canadian driver's license, and a valid passport with no restrictions and in good standing is a requirement. Candidates should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, and have an aptitude for, or previous experience, using business enterprise systems such as Colleague, Banner, PeopleSoft, etc.
