The Department of Finance, Information Systems, and Management Science at the Sobey School of Business of Saint Mary's University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Management Science at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The anticipated starting date is July 1st, 2021 subject to final budgetary approval.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will engage in a combination of research, teaching, and service duties, maintaining an inclusive, equitable, and collegial work environment across all activities. Responsibilities include:

· an active and innovative research agenda resulting in impactful achievements such as peer-reviewed publications, working papers, book chapters, presentation at significant conferences, awards, major external funding, and other noteworthy activities that contribute to the visibility and prominence of the discipline

· potential to foster and add value to one or several of the existing graduate programs offered by the Sobey School of Business (the MBA Program, the Executive MBA Program, the Master of Finance, and the Masters in Technology, Entrepreneurship and Innovation) and contribute to the development of new ones

· engagement in the life of the Department, Faculty, and University through service activities

· commitment to uphold the values of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in all aspects of teaching, research, and service. This includes the ability to foster creative and collaborative intellectual inquiry by bringing diverse knowledge, experiences, and perspectives to learning activities and research projects.

What you'll need

Qualifications

Candidates must hold an earned Ph.D. (or demonstrate that they are all-but-dissertation (ABD) with a final defense date scheduled) in Operations Management, Management Science, Business Analytics, or a closely related area. Also, the successful candidate must demonstrate:

· strong emerging scholarly research agenda at the intersection of key functional Management Science areas, Data Analytics and/or Business Analytics. Specific applications considered include supply chain management, transportation and logistics, health systems, retail management, service management, and sustainability management

· ability and willingness to teach in at least two of the core subject areas offered by the Management Science Group in the Undergraduate and Graduate Programs (Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Management Science, and Operations Management), and openness to innovation in pedagogical approaches (active learning, problem-based learning, case method, use of technology, blended learning, flipped classroom, …)

· strong communication skills and ability to build research and education connections with other areas (disciplines, programs, departments) of the Sobey School of Business and Saint Mary's University.
