Canada's Ocean Supercluster ("OSC") is an innovative and imaginative organization based in Atlantic Canada with National scope that is ensuring we as Canadians, achieve sustainable economic growth in our ocean-based industries while preserving the health and protection of one of our greatest natural resources.

The OSC's mandate is to collaborate with investors and partners from across ocean industries to develop and commercialize innovative solutions to shared challenges. OSC guides projects from the conceptual to the actual; partnering with industries who have big goals and innovative concepts. Actualizing these ideas is our passion and the process is our mission. 

This journey is not for the faint of heart; we are charting new territory; we move with urgency to see these projects launch and create new ways of collaborating, thinking, and executing to completion. Technology Leadership Program Manager

The Technology Leadership Program Manager has a tremendous opportunity to engage with some of the most creative and innovative minds within the Blue Economy. Leveraging an exceptional ability to build trusting relationships, manage detailed projects from kick off to close-out. To be successful in this role, a great candidate will have exceptional collaborative team building skills to work with key stakeholders both inside and external to the Supercluster.

The successful applicant will have a proven track record in program/project management a keen eye for detail and able to seamlessly coach and manage a wide variety of ocean-focused commercialization projects. Current or previous experience working within the ocean economy is considered to be a plus for this role. This is a tremendous opportunity to be part of a legacy that spans across Canada's ocean industries.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Developing strong and trusted relationships with OSC members, and key stakeholders
  • Oversee Projects and Project delivery to ensure successful outcomes including performance of contract tasks, on time deliverables, within budget and in accordance with technical requirements.
  • Guiding proponents in developing and managing project plans and deliverables, including key milestones, budgets, and consortium-based engagement.
  • Provide oversight to project reporting, financial claims and project-level decision-making
  • Perform portfolio analyses and support key performance indicator collection and reporting
  • Support and strengthen organizational data management and information exchange initiatives
  • Presentations and report updates to senior leadership teams, project partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and facilitate workshops and meetings with working groups.
  • Support the development and refinement of the OSC Technology Roadmap, 5-year strategic plan and Annual Plans.
  • Skills, Capabilities and Experience:
  • Experience dealing with multiple stakeholders in both the private and public sector
  • Experience in and understanding of ocean technologies and ocean operations

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of combined relevant experience in innovation management, process framework development, project management, and program management
  • Experience developing and working with project/portfolio management and KPI processes
  • Experience in product development and/or commercialization
  • Certified PMP considered an asset
  • Degree in a science, engineering or business discipline considered an asset
  • An understanding of how to initiate, plan, manage and close collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
