Are you passionate about finding the right talent and creating an exceptional candidate experience? The University of Fredericton is seeking a dynamic Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team.
In this role, you'll play a key part in our hiring process by creating and publishing job ads across various platforms and acting as the vital link between candidates and hiring managers. You'll engage with potential candidates both online and offline, screen applications, and provide valuable support to hiring managers.

What you'll do
Responsibilities
- Create and publish job ads in various portals
- Actively seek out candidates through various channels such as job boards, social media platforms (LinkedIn, Indeed), networking events, and recruiting databases.
- Serving as a go-between for candidates and hiring managers
- Network with potential hires through professional groups on social media
- Track hiring metrics including time-to-hire, time-to-fill and source of hire
- Follow up with candidates throughout the hiring process
- Screen resumes and job applications
- Maintain a database of potential candidates for future job openings
- Conduct initial phone screens to create shortlists of qualified candidates
- Interview candidates with managers for a wide range of roles (junior, senior and executive)
- Issue offer of employment letters and employment contracts
- Participate in Job fairs when the opportunities arise
- Advise hiring managers on interviewing techniques and assessment methods
What you'll need
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with a focus in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration or relevant field
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Recruitment Specialist, Recruiter or similar role
Hands-on experience with the largest job sites like Indeed, job bank, Career beacon, and LinkedIn
Knowledge of sourcing techniques on social media
Strong interpersonal skills
Good written and verbal communications skills
Excellent analytical skills to examine resumes and find the best-suited candidates
In-depth knowledge of hiring strategies, labor laws, and employment equity
The ability to evaluate recruiting software packages and to recommend those which are best suited to the company

Compensation Package
In addition to your base compensation, joining the UFred team means you will be part of a rapidly expanding organization. UFred values its employees and ensures they are able to enjoy Wellness and Balance.

Hours of Work
This is a permanent full-time position (35 hours), under regular business hours (8:30am - 4:30pm). The position is available in Fredericton, NB, with the possibility to work remotely anywhere in New Brunswick and attend in office meetings, as requested. The ideal candidate should reside in New Brunswick or is willing to relocate.
