The role of Talent Acquisition and Development Partner acts as a business partner for the company's various departments by leading, developing and implementing corporate human resources policies, procedures, programs and tools that contribute to the achievement of business objectives. Through leadership, this role contributes to the development and maintenance of the strategic HR vision in order to create an engaging, collaborative and trusting work environment. This individual plays an active role in human resources planning, recruitment, training and development, job classification and compensation and benefits administration to ensure the sustainable management of our talent, in accordance with Assumption Life's mission, vision and values.

The Partner acts with a high degree of independence, discretion, judgment and initiative in providing timely and accurate information and advice on policies, procedures, administrative and operational matters, as well as on sensitive behavioral and performance situations. This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities, but serves as a coach and mentor for other positions within the HR department.

This ultimate goal of this position is to ensure that everything is in place to optimize the employee experience.

He/she must ensure the sustainable management of our talents, in line with Assumption Life's mission, vision and values with the following actions:

  • Recruitment of candidates in alignment with the company's mission, vision and values;
  • Support and strategic coaching of our leaders;
  • Development and implementation of a training program for managers;
  • Participation in the organization and implementation of the Talent Development program for employees.
  • Accompanying our employees through change;
  • Monitoring and anticipation of needs;
  • Development of tools and programs to implement best practices in human resources management within all our teams;

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the recruitment and establishing a schedule of priorities / deadlines;
  • Initiates the development of HR policies, which includes policy modification and revisions;
  • Develops and participates in various talent development initiatives, such as evaluating and monitoring training programs to ensure success. Prepares and implements a training program for managers;
  • Coaches, advises, supports and assist managers in various human resources management practices such as labour relations, team building and mobilization, definition of roles and responsibilities, team management, organizational structure, performance management and all other HR responsibilities;
  • Manages the absences for medical reasons and return-to-work plans. Demonstrates empathy and works with available resources to ensure that employees receive support during difficult times;
  • Responsible for annual activities managed by the HR department for all employees, such as the corporate picnic and the Holiday banquet;
  • Develops and coordinates activities related to well-being and mental and physical health;
  • Organizes and plans the annual recognition program which includes managing the recognition committee and organizing the annual recognition ceremony;
  • Manages the performance evaluation software (Halogen) which includes responding to employee requests, preparing and testing the evaluation process, launching the evaluation process and follow-ups.

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • College or university degree in business administration, human resources or equivalent;
  • 5 or more years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist;
  • Exceptional sense of initiative and independence;
  • Knowledge of MS Office;
  • Experience in recruiting for positions at various levels;
  • Advanced knowledge of written French and intermediate knowledge of written English;
  • Strong communication skills in both official languages at an advanced level in order to interact effectively with managers and employees;
  • Highly proficient in writing reports, policies and procedures, job postings, letters and other professional documents;
  • Advanced knowledge of the NB Human Rights Act and Employment Standards;
  • A high degree of discretion to ensure that confidentiality of records is maintained;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, tact and diplomatic skills;
  • Ease with calculations and numbers;
  • Ability to listen and empathize;
  • Proficient in writing reports and policies.
