McInnes Cooper is seeking a motivated and proactive Systems Analyst to join our team in a full-time permanent position. The Systems Analyst plays a key role on the Technology and Information Services team by planning, designing, developing and launching efficient business, financial and operations systems.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

As a Systems Analyst you will be responsible for:

  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  • Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis in order to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actions.
  • Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
  • Define and document business processes and systems.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in applications across the organization.
  • Collaborate in the creation of system design proposals, and cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
  • Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmers.

What you'll need

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following skill set:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and/or Diploma in IT Programming or related education or transferable experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a related field
  • Data analysis, database design, and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong HTML & CSS along with Javascript and JQuery
  • MSSQL
  • Knowledge of Microsoft.net, XML and related technologies
  • Understanding of Application Architecture and Design
  • Proficient with programming language such as C#, .Net or Python as well as SQL, HTML(5) and Version control software.
  • Experience working with programs/systems such as CSS, XML, XSL, (Batch), (Powershell), PHP, JavaScript, Linux and SharePoint Development Experience (CAML) would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of law firm business processes as asset.
  • Knowledge and/or previous experience with financial application systems
  • Previous experience with web development, integration and reporting tools, technologies and approaches.
  • CSS Framework experience (Bootstrap, Foundation).
  • Web Frameworks (Flask, Django, Ruby, MVA).
