What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Department Head, you are responsible for teaching middle school and high school curricula which includes planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and maintaining a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; on an as needed basis, when other teachers are out of the office.

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this opportunity include a Bachelor of Education Degree and a Nova Scotia Teacher's License with a minimum of one year of teaching experience. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Written and spoken competence in English and French is preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to the competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

Preference may be given to applicants with experience working in a correctional facility or those who have experience teaching adult learners.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.
