Position: Summer Student - Quality Assurance Analyst

Location: Moncton, NB in office

Work Term: Typically 16 weeks

Responsibilities:

  • Execute Testing Services: Perform testing for assigned projects, ensuring thorough coverage and accurate results.
  • Develop and Maintain Test Cases: Create and update test cases/test suites based on a comprehensive test plan.
  • Run Test Cases: Execute test cases according to the schedule, understand the results, and document findings.
  • Submit Defect Reports: Identify and report defects, and retest resolutions to ensure issues are fixed.
  • Communicate Test Coverage: Provide clear and concise updates on test coverage, status, and remaining work to the Test Lead.
  • Daily Reporting: Deliver daily reports on testing activities, highlighting progress and any issues encountered.
  • Identify Testing Impediments: Recognize and escalate any obstacles that hinder testing progress.
  • Recommend Improvements: Offer suggestions for improving test approaches and processes.

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • Drive and Self-Motivation: Demonstrates initiative and a strong work ethic.
  • Eagerness to Learn: Shows a willingness to acquire new skills and knowledge.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Capable of identifying and resolving issues effectively.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Tools: Familiarity with tools such as QTest and JIRA.
  • Knowledge of Automated Testing Tools: Experience with tools like Tosca is a plus.
  • Self-Starter: Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly Organized: Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good Communication Skills: Proficient in both written and verbal communication.
  • Technical Communication: Ability to explain technical information in everyday language.

Requirements:

  • Age Requirement: Must be 19 years of age or older by the start date.
  • Residency: Must reside in Atlantic Canada.

Education Requirements:

  • Studying in post-secondary education in IT, computer science, or a related field.
