The Opportunity:
As the Subject Matter Expert, Lead Aerospace at BTSI, you will have both knowledge and experience working with Department of National Defence (DND); primarily supporting projects for the Royal Canadian Airforce (RCAF) and/or Royal Canadian Navy (RCN). You will be a key contributor supporting training development and analysis for the next generation of RCAF and RCN training.

What you will be doing:
- Providing leadership and support to Aerospace SME team.
- Working with Program Manager, Aerospace to manage, plan, utilize, and schedule resources within the Aerospace/Maritime Programs.
- Expertise with aircraft (both FW and RW) and applicable aircraft related shipboard systems.
- Expertise with aircraft maintenance programs.
- Conduct training needs analysis and design as required.
- Conduct research necessary to aid in the production of technical publications and/or courseware.
- Utilize Technical expertise to support other SMEs and define requirements.
- Support verification/validation as required.
- Internal communications to the Project Manager/Program Manager.
- Quality review of all applicable deliverables.
- Provide support to training and courseware production.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, program enhancement, and generate recommendation.
What you'll need
Qualifications
What do you need to succeed?
- At least 10 years' experience as a member of the RCAF or RCN.
- 2 years' experience as an instructor or working in the training/standards section.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple initiatives in a fast past environment.
