NBCC is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of casual Student Services Representative at our Saint John campus location until July 26, 2020.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Student Development, as a member of the Student Services team, you are responsible for providing a variety of services to students and the general public. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining student records, handling confidential and sensitive documentation, collecting and recording payments made by students, reconciling and preparing deposits, ensuring the accuracy of information presented by students using the student information management system (SIMS), confirming financial information and course requirements, entering marks in SIMS, creating transcript files, preparing certificates for graduation, and providing reports as required. General administrative functions such as telephone, correspondence, photocopying, and faxing are also required.

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this opportunity include a high school diploma supplemented by a one-year post-secondary program in a related field, and a minimum of three (3) years of recent and related work experience, OR a high school diploma supplemented by a two-year diploma in a related field plus two (2) years of recent and related experience. Extensive knowledge of the MS Office Suite of products is also required. The successful candidate must also have strong client service orientation, be detail-focused, demonstrate initiative and be able to work independently while also working cooperatively with others as required. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Preference may be given to candidates who have experience working in a post-secondary environment or who have knowledge SIMS.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive bi-weekly salary for this position ranging from $1,472 to $1,776. This is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees collective agreement (Administrative and Program Support Services Group) for the College.
