Standard Work Hours:
Mon - Fri | 8:00 am - 4:00 pm | 36.25 hours per week

Additional Working Conditions:

  • Considerable travel along with evening and weekend work is required.
  • Ability to travel provincially and nationally.

Salary Range: $46,244 - $60,114 per annum


Reporting to the Manager, Student Recruitment, the Student Recruitment Officer will work to meet prospective student inquiry, application, and enrolment targets for UNB by developing close working relations with key stakeholders in their sales territory. The Student Recruitment Officer will work closely with other members of the student recruitment team and with other units and faculties on both the Fredericton and Saint John campuses.

  • Lead the development and implementation of a UNB recruitment strategy for specific target market.
  • Develop application and prospective student inquiry targets in their specific target market.
  • Attend post-secondary fairs.
  • Plan and attend independent visits to high schools.
  • Plan and conduct presentations on UNB and other related topics to high school students and key influencers.
  • Assist with planning and attending innovative recruitment events, both on and off campus.
  • Build relationships with potential undergraduate students through school visits, individual meetings, calls, emails, presentations.
  • Aid other recruitment officers in other territories, as needed.
  • Develop excellent relationships with high school guidance counsellors, administrators, and teachers, parents, alumni, and other key influencers in their territory.
  • Collaborate to plan and attend events and communication aimed at fostering these relationships.
  • Research other universities and maintain an understanding of competition in the marketplace.
  • Represent recruitment on various committees as required.
  • Liaise with facilities/staff on both campuses to keep abreast of changes in programs, policies, facilities, services, etc.
  • Enter prospective student inquiries into the database.
  • Assist with other events/activities as directed by the Student Recruitment Manager.
  • Assist with the development of promotional materials and related research activities.


  • University degree, preference will be given to recent UNB degree holders.
  • Previous sales or relationship building experience.

  • Good existing knowledge of UNB and its program offerings is considered an asset.
