The Opportunity
Crosbie Salamis Limited (CSL) provides multi-discipline fabric maintenance support services and deck services to the Offshore Oil and Gas Industry. Our scope of services includes: scaffolding, coatings, insulation, passive fire and blast protection, composite pipe repair, positive pressure habitats, industrial cleaning, deck and crane operations, radio operations and rigging and slinging.
We have an immediate need for a qualified Stage 3 Crane Operator who is trained and offshore ready to an ad hoc role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install and remove crane booms, extensions and hook blocks;
- Install, rig and remove crane attachments;
- Determine safe lifting capacities;
- Ensure that any operations do not exceed the limitations of the unit or its equipment;
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of the cranes while ensuring safe work practices and correct lifting procedures are being followed;
- Perform pre-start and pre-operation procedures and use proper methods and devices for making lifts and slinging loads;
- Ensure daily detailed planning is conducted for all upcoming operations; and
- Adopt safe working practices and promote safety awareness.
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Stage 3 Offshore Crane Operator Training certificate (Sparrows preferred);
- Thorough knowledge of crane operation and maintenance procedures;
- Sound knowledge of all aspects of deck operations;
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills; and
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
