The Opportunity
We are seeking a software developer to assist with the development of our Quantifeel software. The software interfaces with Smart Skin's hardware sensors to allow our customers to record and interpret data on their manufacturing lines. It is written in the Java (8) programming language, and its touch-screen user interface is implemented using JavaFX. It has an embedded database and connects to our cloud service via RESTful API.
What you'll do
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for new feature development and bug
fixing. At the end of a software release cycle, some QA testing will also be required. Smart Skin
is also undertaking other software initiatives in the realms of IoT & machine learning; there will
be an opportunity to contribute to those projects.
What you'll need
Qualifications
- 3+ years of software development experience
- Experience with the Java programming language
- Experience with source control tools such as SVN, Git
- Experience interacting with databases and altering database schemas
Nice to have:
- Experience implementing and consuming APIs
- Experience with web development and web UI development
- Some UI development experience
- Experience with unit testing
- Experience with Bluetooth and other wireless communication protocols
- Interest or experience with IoT
- Interest or experience in machine learning
