Hickman Automotive Group is looking for a Service Advisor to join our team at Hickman Nissan in Clarenville. The Service Advisor's major responsibility is to satisfy customers by providing exceptional customer service, expediting the repair and service of their vehicles within an expected length of time and at an expected cost.

What you'll do


  • Is responsible for establishing rapport and trust with customers.
  • Meet and greet customers in the drive-thru and explain the check-in process.
  • Write repair orders.
  • Be familiar with the required services of all products and suggests the required maintenance at each interval.
  • Documents vehicle problems by listening to customers describe them and by asking probing questions.
  • Road-tests customer vehicles to confirm problems and, after service, to ensure that repairs have been completed.
  • Maintains extensive contact with customers, phoning to provide estimates on service and repairs before jobs are begun, explaining the appointments/scheduling systems to customers, and establishing with customers the method of payment for repairs (cash, warranty, etc.).
  • Constantly communicates with Technicians to obtain information on needed vehicle repairs.
  • Recommends additional maintenance and repair services to customers when appropriate.
  • Capable of working independently, managing his or her time and workflow.
  • Involves patiently listening to customers describe vehicle problems, determining the appropriate work involved in the repairs, and accurately recording problems and authorized repairs on work orders so that the Technician understands what to do.
  • Requires accuracy, attention to detail, and clear communication with other team members and departments in the dealership.
  • Requires the continuous updating of technical knowledge by reading service bulletins and consulting with Technicians.

What you'll need


  • Exceptional commitment to customer service.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, including Word and Excel. 
  • Working knowledge of vehicles.
  • High school diploma.
  • Ability to readily establish rapport and trust with customers as well as a strong interest in exceeding customer's expectations.
  • Must be capable of handling dissatisfied customers and customers who are unsure of repairs and costs of service.
  • Well-developed team member skills.
  • Above average time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Excellent interpersonal, telephone and communication skills.
  • Requires accuracy, attention to detail, and clear communication.
  • Ability to project a professional company image.
  • Experience in the customer service industry.
  • Experience in the automotive industry (Service) would be considered an asset.
  • Possess a valid NL Drivers License and has maintained a clean drivers abstract.
