The Opportunity

Full-time - Permanent
$55,000 - $65,000 / year

Are you an entrepreneurial, client-success-obsessed creative who is looking for a hands-on role that is not your typical design or agency gig? An opportunity to really be a part of something? Are you ready to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and suppliers on projects of all types and sizes, from startups to major corporations and all levels of government? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

Our creative agency works with hundreds of clients across dozens of industries and we're seeking a Senior Graphic Designer and Creative Mind to join our team. This is a full-team approach, co-operative spirit, and entrepreneurial role that requires diverse experience, critical thinking skills, and leadership abilities.

This is anything but a 9-5 (much more than that to keep us with the atypical structure of the agency and the entrepreneurial clients and projects it works on). If balanced is what ou're looking for - this isn't it. If an integrated approach to work and life is more your jam, keep reading.

We don't work in silos here, information is never as prepared as we'd like it to be, and we're often asked to deliver months of work in days of time - but for more than 10 years we've found the right people to make that magic happen. We've find spending less time worry about "what's possible" and more time "making it possible" can create magic.

What you'll do

As a Senior Graphic Designer and Creative Mind, you'll be responsible for:

Designing and producing innovative and effective design solutions across various media platforms: traditional, digital, large-format, social, packaging, and more

Coming up with creative ideas, campaigns, themes, and solutions for projects and challenges of all sorts

Collaborating with colleagues, clients, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards

Working directly with clients and key decision makers to present concepts, gather feedback, iterate, evolve, and grow together

Leading design projects from conception to delivery, ensuring creative excellence and client satisfaction while collaborating with the creatives across all disciplines in the agency

Contributing to the growth and development of the agency's creative offering and spectacular service delivery

Being a part of the leadership table of the organization representing the design unit

Mentoring and inspiring junior designers and creative team members

Participating in agency initiatives and contributing to a positive and supportive team culture

Being an ambassador and champion for the agency in the community

What you'll need

The ideal candidate will have:

8+ years of experience in graphic design or a related field (if you're an awesome designer with less than 8 years experience who thinks they have what it takes - we'd LOVE to hear from you)

A diverse design portfolio that showcases a range of creative and strategic thinking

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools

Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills

A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset

Positive, determined, approachable, collaborative, flexible, open-minded, optimistic

A passion for staying up-to-date with design trends, technology, and best practices

An entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to take on new challenges in an ever evolving culture

Work With Us

We're looking for someone who is excited about joining a dynamic, client-focused, and collaborative team. In return, we offer a competitive salary, paid-health and dental benefits, opportunities for career advancement and paid advancement and education, and a supportive work environment.

If this sounds like the perfect opportunity for you, please submit your resume + portfolio, explaining why you're the ideal candidate for the BrainWorks ecosystem.

BrainWorks (kind of like the "unagency") was founded in a sunroom in Dieppe in 2012 with no backers, clients, financing, laptop, or services to speak of. Today the firm is made up of 20+ full-time team members from 8 cultures and has helped clients break world records, host world-leaders, and achieving jaw-dropping results for clients. It takes a very special kind of person to thrive in this environment - but they are out there.

If this sounds like you - send an application that stand outs.

We like atypical things.
