Atlantic Lottery (AL) is seeking a Senior Receivables Technician located in Moncton, NB.

As our Senior Receivables Technician, you are part of a team responsibile for Accounts Receivable, Gaming Liabilities, and eBusiness. More specifically, in this role, you will apply a thorough understanding of all transactions, associated business processes, applicable legislative and regulatory considerations, appropriate accounting treatments, and end-to-end flow of journal entries throughout the entire process cycle. Additionally, you will handle Credit & Collection duties, and provide timely business and customer support across all areas of accountability.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Financial Accounting: Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis to ensure financial transactions are complete, reliable, and compliant with IFRS standards and other applicable legislation. Additionally, maintain a solid understanding of Chart of Accounts (CoA) and tax rules.

Reporting and Analysis: Prepare internal and external reports and requests for information as required.

Accounts Receivable: Ensure the completeness and accuracy of AR records whether for Retailers, Players, or other customers. Including prompt and detailed billing to customers, to the reconciliation of AR balances with customer payments and resolving any issues. Maintain knowledge and understanding of all contracts specific to each customer to ensure both parties are adhering to the agreements.

Gaming Liabilities: Ensure the completeness and accuracy of gaming liabilities, including deferred revenue, lottery payables, unclaimed prize liabilities, and amounts due to shareholders.

Credit & Collections: Handle all credit and collection tasks efficiently. Including credit assessment of new accounts; communicating with customers, receiving, and processing payments related to weekly NSF accounts; monitoring overdue accounts, communicating with the business, negotiating payment plans and/or security deposit.

eBusiness: Ensure the completeness and accuracy of eBusiness transaction processing while maintaining a solid understanding of system integration. This includes handling daily transactions, identifying and adjusting for exceptions, and ensuring that all data ties back into daily and monthly reconciliations.

Process Documentation: Consistently review assigned standards, processes, and procedural documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, efficiency, and consistency.

Support: Assisting and collaborating with various members of the Finance team as required. This may involve providing administrative support, data entry, and handling routine tasks for different finance functions.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor and/or College diploma in Finance/Accounting or equivalent;
  • 3+ yrs experience in Finance/Accounting;
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook);
  • Must be 19 years of age or older to apply.
