Acadia seeks a Senior Network/Security Analyst in Technology Services to support the university's IT infrastructure. This is a highly technical position responsible for all aspects of network operations, including but not limited to, network design, deployment, monitoring, problem resolution, performance management, and maintenance. The Senior/Network Security Analyst will also be responsible for the IT security profile of the campus, this includes the network, datacentre, endpoints and other related items that are at risk. Working within the Technology Services Department, specific responsibilities of the position include:

  • Network design and implementation
  • Network monitoring, reporting and support
  • Security management
  • Supervision of network analyst and coordination of external service providers

QUALIFICATIONS: We are seeking a candidate who has a Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent education with experience in the following areas:

  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience related to all major aspects of networking, including local and wide area networks, enterprise wireless, network switching/routing/firewalls
  • Proficient in current and emerging cyber threats and attacks, as well as security vulnerabilities
  • Experience managing Next Generation Firewalls (Fortinet is an advantage)
  • Proficient at diagnosing and resolving a wide range of issues
  • Experience working in a datacentre with both Windows and Unix
  • Experience with Active Directory
  • Proficiency as a programmer is an asset
  • Experience with configuration management

The successful applicant will have demonstrated problem solving, problem analysis, consultation, and documentation skills with the ability to handle parallel projects and priorities.

Excellent interpersonal, time management, consultation and communication skills with an ability to both apply policy and take direction is required.

THE REWARDS: Acadia offers a comprehensive benefit package and a starting salary to commensurate with qualifications and experience in the range of $58,244 - $69,554 per annum (AUPAT Level 6).
