Halifax Water is hiring a Senior Manager, Capital Project Delivery as we continue to advance our Engineering Team.

As the Senior Manager, Capital Project Delivery, you will report to the Director, Engineering & Capital Infrastructure and you will be responsible for the execution of design and construction of most Halifax Water capital projects. You will take an active role in key projects identified as high risk, identify issues to the executive leadership team and make recommendations for mitigative action.

As a Senior Manager, Capital Project Delivery, you will:

  • Ensure your team has the requisite blend of staff experience and ability to execute the full range of Halifax Water capital projects, from simple linear renewal to major structures.
  • Develop and maintain and assure adherence to a Halifax Water policies and practice for design and construction.
  • Work closely with Procurement and the Enterprise Risk Program Manager to develop or select project procurement and delivery methodologies for key projects.
  • Work closely with legal on contractual matters.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the consulting engineer and constructor communities and be the main point of contact for resolving design or construction issues.

To do this job, you need to have:

  • A post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering
  • A Professional Engineer designation.
  • Seven years of progressively responsible related experience in a municipal engineering field.
  • Direct supervisory experience.
