The Opportunity
Under the direction of the Dean of Arts via the Associate Dean of Arts (Curriculum and Student Affairs), the Senior Advisor would provide essential leadership and strategic planning for the BA Advising Centre. The Senior Advisor, in consultation with the Associate Dean of Arts (Curriculum and Student Affairs), would oversee the strategic direction of the BA Advising Centre, the implementation of proactive advising projects, as well as the day-to-day advising activities and outreach initiatives of the BA Advising Centre. The Senior Advisor would also serve as liaison from the BA Advising Centre to the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM) Steering Committee to ensure a comprehensive approach to the BA Advising Centre's support of SEM initiatives.
Group affiliation for this position is with the Administrative, Professional, Confidential (APC) Group. The position is evaluated at a Group 6 (salary range $64,789- $83,489). Salary scale can be viewed here.

Qualifications
To be the successful Senior Advisor you will have possess an undergraduate degree preferably in Arts (MA considered an asset) and possess a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of related professional experience. The successful candidate must have supervisory experience, highly developed oral and written communication skills, international experience and intercultural competence and professional judgement and discretion. You must have experience teaching/mentoring adults and making presentations, possess strong analytical skills and have demonstrated skill in using Microsoft Office, desktop publishing and communication software.
