WHAT WE OFFER

Full-time | Continuing | Fredericton | On-Campus

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | Mostly Night Shifts | 40 hours per week

Additional Working Conditions:

  • Possession of valid workplace First Aid, C.P.R. and WHMIS certificates and certifications must be maintained as a condition of employment.
  • Required to provide a criminal record check.
  • A valid Canadian driver's license is required.

Salary Range: $22.34 - $24.98 per hour

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Patrol Supervisor, the Security Patrol ensures the security of university property and the safety and security of staff, faculty, students, and visitors while on campus.

  • Conduct inspections of university buildings for safety and fire hazards, mechanical problems, or other occurrences which result in loss or damage to property.
  • Maintain security of buildings and grounds.
  • Perform dispatch duties, (monitor the computerized alarm system and security cameras, answer emergency phone, maintain key control, and perform telephone and radio dispatch duties).
  • Ensure that only authorized persons are admitted to specific labs, offices, and classrooms after hours.
  • Question suspicious persons in buildings as to their intent and purpose of being in the building.
  • Complete occurrence reports on initial response to complaints and occurrences.
  • Perform traffic enforcement duties as required.
  • Prepare a duty report at the end of the shift.
  • by other agencies such as the Fire Department and Police Department.
  • Assist training new security personnel.
  • Perform crowd control duties as required.
  • Assist Student Campus Patrol as needed.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Additional Strengths

  • Previous experience is an asset.
  • Completion of a security training course from a community college is an asset.
  • Some mechanical aptitude is an asset.
