Position: Science Technician III - Chemistry (Temporary, Full Time)

Department: Faculty of Science

Salary: $52,959 - $64,737 (Group 10)

The Science Technician III-Chemistry, under the direction of the Department Chair, provides technical support services to the Chemistry Department, including: coordinating and organizing the setup of laboratory experiments including the preparation of required chemicals and the assignment of work to student assistants? set-up, optimization and maintenance of lab instruments? ensuring proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials? ensuring a safe laboratory environment, and performing procurement activities for Department and Faculty research.

Qualifications

To be the successful Science Technician III-Chemistry you will possess a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in chemistry or a related field with a minimum of two (2) years related experience. The successful candidate will also have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to function independently and as part of a team.
