Under the direction of the Department Chairperson, the Science Technician II - Astronomy provides technical and support services to the Department of Astronomy and Physics. Provides support in the Observatory and administers the Department's computer systems.

The Science Technician II works out of the Astronomy and Physics Department and reports to the Department Chairperson.

Group affiliation for this position is with the Bargaining Unit 79. The position is evaluated at a Group 9 (salary range $50,572 - $61,814). Salary scale or Collective Agreement can be viewed here.

Qualifications

To be the successful Science Technician II you will possess a university degree and a minimum of two to three years of related work experience. You must also have observational astronomy, telescope, and observatory skills; Linux-based computer administration skills; and excellent oral and written skills.
