Under the direction of the Director, Diversity, Inclusion and Wellness, the Advisor is responsible for advancing the Respectful Workplaces portfolio within the university community. The Advisor provides leadership in the area of Respectful Workplaces. The Advisor has the primary responsibility for ensuring that the university meets its obligations under the University's Policy on Conflict Resolution and the Prevention and Resolution of Harassment and Discrimination, and all other relevant university policies, legislation and collective agreements.

Group affiliation for this position is with the Administrative, Professional & Confidential (APC) Group. The position is evaluated at a Group 6 (salary scale $64,789 - 83,489). Salary scale can be viewed here.

Qualifications

To be the successful Respectful Workplace Advisor you will possess a Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline and 3-5 years of directly related work experience. Additional requirements include certification from a recognized conflict management program that reflects a minimum of 200 hours specialized training in conflict resolution with an emphasis on organizational conflict management; current knowledge of harassment and discrimination issues in accordance with Federal and Provincial Human Rights Legislation; experience in the design and delivery of educational programs in the areas of Respectful Workplaces and Conflict Resolution; experience working in a unionized environment; and experience working with different stakeholder groups in a post-secondary environment an asset.
