The primary purpose of Student Affairs & Services (SAS) is to support students in achieving their academic, personal, and life goals. In keeping with this, SAS develops and delivers a wide range of programs and services that enhance and contribute to the student experience and the learning environment. WHAT WE OFFER

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:00 am - 4:00 pm | 36.25 hours per week
Salary Range: $50,332 - $62,911 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Senior Director, Health & Wellness, the Wellness Coordinator position is an integral member of the Student Affairs and Services team and will work closely with the Residence Life team to support student wellness on both Fredericton and Saint John campuses. The Wellness Coordinator will focus on providing mental and physical health programming for students, work directly with other staff units, build relationships with off-campus supports, and provide one-on-one support to students who may be struggling while attending classes at UNB.
- Provide guidance to students with mental health concerns through various processes.
- Refer students to appropriate mental health and disability support professionals both on and off-campus.
- Work in collaboration with other on-campus services to help students address the impact that their mental health challenges may have on their academic and personal success.
- Provide support and mentoring to students with mental health concerns.
- Liaise with on-campus professionals and services within the greater Fredericton and Saint John areas to ensure that students receive supports that they require to succeed.
- Provide leadership and supervision to teams of student staff/leaders who support students.
- Develop and deliver educational workshops for students.
- Develop and deliver peer mentorship programs to connect students to each other and whereby senior students can provide guidance, support, and an overall sense of belonging.
- Develop and deliver public awareness campaigns around physical and emotional health challenges and wellness concerns.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Post-secondary education in a related field.
- Two or more years experience working in an educational, health, or social work field, developing and implementing educational and awareness programs, working with vulnerable communities, and/or working with community supports.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Strengths
- Ability to travel would be an asset.
- First Aid certification, and Mental Health First Aid certification would be and asset.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills.
