Dr. Jessie-Lee McIsaac, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Education and Department of Child and Youth Study, is seeking a Research Project Manager to support with the overall management of her research program.

8 Month, Part-time Term Contract (Hours are between 20 to 35 hours per week)
$20 to $25 per hour plus 4% vacation pay, depending on experience
Start Date: March 12, 2018 

What you'll do

Responsibilities

The Research Project Manager position will support the management of Dr. McIsaac’s research program, including managing budgets, research ethics applications, assisting with research program planning and grant applications, coordinating data collection/analysis and supervising students. The Research Project Manager will also work closely with an academic team to coordinate data collection for a large evaluation project on an early childhood initiative. Responsibilities for this project include liaising with project sponsors, coordinating quantitative and qualitative data collection/analysis and preparing project reports.

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in one of the following: social sciences, early childhood, education, health promotion. Completion or in progress of a PhD is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated skills with project management, qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation. Knowledge of research designs, evaluation theories (e.g., theory of change, logic models) and complex systems approaches.
  • Experience with budget management, supervising students/staff and knowledge of research grants process.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as a member of a team.
  • Excellent writing, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, professional demeanor, critical thinking, problem solving and sound judgement.
  • Competence with basic administrative functions and working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Experience with data analysis software (SPSS, NVivo), web design and Adobe Creative Cloud an asset.
  • Bilingual in French language an asset (please identify in cover letter).
