NBCC is currently seeking a dynamic individual for the position of Research Fellow (Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship).

This is a one year term position with the possibility of extension/renewal.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

The Research Fellow will report to the NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Mobile & Ubiquitous Computing and work in the NBCC Centre for Applied Research in Mobile & Ubiquitous Computing (NBCC-MU). The successful incumbent will lead or collaborate on software design and development, including user interface design and evaluation; and develop and manage projects, including co-authoring research grant proposals. The Research Fellow will have the opportunity to develop their own novel project ideas.

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this opportunity include a University Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, and a minimum of three years' recent experience as a Research Technician or Software Developer, including work on projects involving applied research, experimental development, or commercial product or service development. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge and skills in using one or more well-known programing languages, such as Java, Javascript, Python, or C#; and software engineering methodologies, such as DevOps, Agile/SCRUM or Unified Process experience.

Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $41,184 to $57,486 annually.
