DEVELOPMENT & DONOR RELATIONS

The Office of Development and Donor Relations (DDR) is a unit within the Advancement portfolio, responsible for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of private donations made to UNB.

WHAT WE OFFER

Full-time | 3-Year Term | Fredericton | On-Campus

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week

Salary Range: $48,900 - $66,646 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Associate Director, Research & Stewardship, the Research & Stewardship Coordinator provides tactical support to the implementation, measurement and maintenance of various prospecting and stewardship strategies.

  • Support the implementation of a robust stewardship program for those making significant philanthropic investments in the University's mission. These may include progress reports, financial accounting, endowment reports and proposals.
  • Expand, update and maintain prospect and donor records through research of current database as well as external sources.
  • Respond to requests and enquiries from Advancement staff for background information, profiles, written reports, lists and statistics.
  • Prepare project summaries and brief bios for meetings between Advancement staff and prospective donors for the purpose of qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Help develop print and digital communications illustrating the impact of philanthropy in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team.
  • Coordinate in-house mailings to donors and prospective donors including event invitations, gift acknowledgment letters, fund reports and stewardship correspondence on behalf of the President and other senior administrators.
  • Collaborate with and support the Philanthropy Programs team on stewardship initiatives for annual and loyal donors.
  • Liaise with various UNB departments and faculties on the use of philanthropic funds.
  • Serve as a UNB ambassador at events, including gift celebrations, reunions, dinners and receptions.
  • Other responsibilities as directed by the Research and Stewardship Manager.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Post-Secondary education in Business Administration or a related field.
  • 1 year of related experience illustrating the ability to successfully meet progressively complicated challenges in a dynamic office setting.
  • An equivalent combination or experience in an office setting with preference given to development or advancement functions preferably in an academic or not-for-profit environment may be considered.

Additional Strengths

  • Knowledge of a broad range of research techniques, including traditional text and periodical research, searching databases and the Internet.
  • Excellent writing, editing, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing technical environment.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite is required.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to accomplish multiple activities concurrently within tight time frames and shifting deadlines.
  • A high level of accountability and sound and mature judgment in dealing with confidential and sensitive situations and information.
