What you'll do
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Provide quality resident care by assessing and assisting residents with their activities of daily living
- Plan, implement and evaluate quality resident care, constantly striving to improve
- Promote and support opportunities for professional development of self and other staff
- Maintain a clean, comfortable and safe environment for residents and fellow staff members
- Administer medications and treatments to residents
- Act as a resource, leader and supervisor to other nursing staff
- Perform probationary and annual performance appraisals, providing staff with appropriate feedback and coaching
- Ensure resident documentation and reports are maintained
- Pharmacy duties such as maintaining inventory records, ensuring the narcotics count is completed at shift change, and place pharmacy orders
- Assume responsibility for the facility in the absence of Senior Management
- Maintain confidentiality concerning residents, staff and organizational information
What you'll need
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses
- Standard First Aid, CPR and Phlebotomy required
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English
- Strong leadership skills
- Bachelor of Nursing is an asset
- Experience in a geriatric setting is an asset
