Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week
Additional Working Conditions:
- Occasional evening and weekend work required.
- Occasional travel required between UNB's Fredericton and Saint John campuses.
Salary Range: $43,596 - $54,493 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Manager, Communications and Conversion, the Marketing Officer is responsible for the development and execution of a holistic marketing strategy that involves all recruitment tactics (i.e.. publications/collateral and advertising programs) designed to attract and recruit domestic and international students to UNB. The Marketing Officer will work closely with other members of the student recruitment marketing team, as well as with Strategic Communications & Marketing, the Registrar's and Admissions Offices, and Faculties and Departments on both campuses.
- Produce an annual suite of offline recruitment tools for both domestic and international recruitment geared towards helping reach recruitment targets.
- Provide graphic design services for the recruitment units and Undergraduate Awards including layouts for print ads, flyers, posters, invitations, presentations, infographics, and other marketing tools.
- Coordinate, implement, track and report on all student recruitment publications/collateral production, including monitoring proofs and quality control.
- Work closely with external marketing agencies and other suppliers and responsible for content proofing and editing.
- Assist the Digital Strategist and other recruitment marketing team members with the development and execution of Recruitment's Digital and Marketing Recruitment Strategy which includes social media, web presence, email marketing, digital ads, etc.
- Design, edit, and proof all in-house led projects and will source the printing of all projects directly with suppliers.
- Provide feedback on the annual Recruitment Strategic Plan
- Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders such as Faculties and Strategic Communications & Marketing Office, participating in the UNB Marketing and Communications (MAC) Group.
- Assist in the development of, and participate in, innovative recruitment initiatives/events both on and off campus.
- Keep abreast of changes in programs, policies, faculty, facilities and student services on both campuses as well as industry standards and practices.
- Monitor competitors to maintain a current understanding of competition in the marketplace.
- Sit on various university committees as required.
WHAT YOU BRING
University degree, supplemented by two years' direct experience (or suitable equivalent combination of education and experience) in marketing, graphic design, publication production and project management.
Experience with graphic design for digital marketing and/or print projects is required.
Additional Strengths
- High level of competency required in Adobe Illustrator and/or Adobe InDesign.
- One year of print production experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to deliver top-quality written communications to a wide variety of audiences and across multiple channels.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills including the ability to time manage, print deadlines and to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Good existing knowledge of UNB and its program offerings is considered an asset.
