NBCC is currently seeking a dynamic and energetic individual with excellent communication and public speaking skills for a Part Time Term position (0.6 or 21.75 hrs per week), until June 2019, for Recruitment Advisor.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Student Recruitment, as a member of the Student Development team, you are responsible for implementing the provincial recruitment and enrolment plans at the campus level which will include recruitment strategies for high school, mature, Indigenous and international students. In carrying out these responsibilities, you will be required to make presentations and conduct workshops on all NBCC programs to highlight the benefits of education at NBCC. This will be accomplished via classroom presentations, individual appointments and participation in education and job fairs.

The above-mentioned responsibilities also include but are not limited to; providing pre-admission advising on an appointment and drop-in basis, planning, directing and administering on-campus events (e.g. Open House, Student for a Day, College Preview Day, campus tours, etc.), responding to inquiries from prospective students and the general public regarding programs, admission requirements, and other college information in person, via phone, email, social media, etc., liaising with the campus community to ensure staff are well informed of recruitment activities and are given the opportunity to participate.

As a valued member of our team, you will work within a community of leaders to create rewarding and successful student experiences; developing excellent relationships with potential students, high school guidance counsellors, teachers, parents, and other key influencers, community partners, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this opportunity include a high school diploma plus a two (2) year post-secondary diploma in a related field with a minimum of six (6) months of recent and related work experience, OR be a recent graduate with a diploma or certificate from any one of NBCC's six campus locations. Applications must demonstrate experience in making presentations to large groups. A valid driver's license and ability to travel is required as this position involves considerable travel within the assigned territory, including occasional evenings and weekends. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Preference may be given to candidates who have experience working/teaching in a post-secondary environment.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $40,378 to $56,368 (salary will be pro-rated according to work schedule) annually.
