The primary purpose of Student Affairs & Services (SAS) is to support students in achieving their academic, personal, and life goals. WHAT WE OFFER

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week
Salary Range: $20.62 - $24.42 per hour
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Manager, Residence Administration, the Receptionist is responsible for all front desk services for traditional residences, Magee apartments as well as UNB owned internal apartments. This position assists Residence Staff with administrative projects or tasks while also frequently interacting with students and guests.
- Provide administrative support for Residence staff.
- Handle cash, reconcile cash float, balance and close off cashier sessions, and credit/debit machines.
- Process transactions for lost residence keys and other residence related fines and/or payments.
- Assist in tracking summer residence and early arrival/late departure fees.
- Provide service to internal and external clients, including students and the general public, to handle requests and inquiries and direct where necessary to the principal member of staff for that area.
- Communicate pertinent information to staff, students and the general public.
- Relay information to local, national and international students regarding residence, room numbers, move-in details, Residence policies and other general inquiries pertaining to the upcoming academic year.
- Maintain a professional, clean and tidy front of office.
- Maintain current information systems for post and current students such as Colleague, Transact and E RezLife.
- Assist with spring and/or summer Orientation (SOAR) events.
- Assist with Residence check in/move-in days each term.
- Process mail; sort and distribute both office, staff and residence mail received.
- Act as back up for all residence facilities work orders, key issues, room assignment/room move issues, etc.
- Assist with recruiting/interviewing and hiring student front desk part time staff.
- Train, mentor and supervise student front desk staff including scheduling, workflow etc.
- Other general administrative tasks, as requested.
WHAT YOU BRING
- High School Diploma.
- 3-5 years experience in a related customer service or administrative position.
Additional Strengths
- Knowledge of UNB and the Residence Department.
- Client Service focus with the ability to balance many demands at once in a friendly, helpful and professional manner.
- Mentorship and supervisory skills.
- Time management skills, with the ability to prioritize work.
- High comfort level working in Microsoft 365.
- Experience with software such as Transact, E Res Life, and Colleague considered an asset.
