The Simulation Product Group focused on the design, fabrication, assembly, integration, delivery and support of mixed-reality (MR) aircraft/helicopter simulators for rear-crew.

The Project Manager role in the Simulation Product Group is responsible for the on-time, on-budget delivery of simulation product projects. In this position you will be working closely with internal and customer stakeholders to identify and coordinate the resolution of issues, risks and barriers that impede project progress and success. You will be also responsible for overseeing project resourcing and cost management in our corporate systems and tools. The position reports to the Senior Director of Systems Engineering.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Measuring and managing project performance (scope, time, cost, risk) using appropriate corporate systems, tools and processes.
  • Developing and maintaining project schedules in corporate systems.
  • Performing monthly project financial reconciliation and cost to complete estimations in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Understanding and managing resource allocations across our technical teams in corporate systems; identifying/escalating resources gaps and/or underutilization.
  • Identifying project risks and issues, and working independently and with stakeholders (internal and external) to mitigate and resolve.
  • Managing and coordinating communications internally and externally.
  • Working collaboratively with resource managers to ensure required resources are identified to execute project plans

  • Providing updates regularly, including written status reports, noting that any deviations from the project plan must be explained; including estimate cost to complete and earned value variances, schedule variances and accomplishments to date, and issue and risks.

  • Reporting project status to Bluedrop stakeholders.
  • Preparing meeting agendas and detailed meeting minutes.
  • Other related duties as required.

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • College diploma or University degree in a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 year's experience in project management or related field.
  • Must be able to obtain Government of Canada NATO Secret security clearance.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills including:
    • Ability to influence others to a desired outcome through building persuasive arguments based on logic and facts, coupled with the ability to anticipate, and respond to the needs and concerns of others.
    • Ability to adapt to, and work effectively within, a variety of situations, and with various individuals or groups.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to handle multiple initiatives, and deadlines while keeping up with a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using a project scheduling tool (e.g. MS Project) is a requirement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
