The Project Manager would be responsible for:

• Planning, scheduling, budgeting, and controlling activities during the construction phase of the project(s) in conjunction with the supporting team members;
• Administrating and managing prime contracts and subcontracts, including negotiating and awarding subcontracts and purchase orders for scopes of work;
• Managing project budgets and schedules and submitting monthly progress billings; and,
• Establishing and maintaining positive relations and communication with clients, consultants, architects and subcontractors. Managing project closeout and commissioning.

To be successful in this role the interested candidate must possess the following:

• Degree in Civil Engineering, CET certification or related and a minimum of 5-7 years project management experience in the construction industry or equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Experience leading project teams;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple medium scale projects;
• Strong understanding of and ability to read and interpret engineering specifications and process design drawings related to assigned projects;
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment; and,
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft office, Acad and Estimating programs would be an asset.

Chimo Construction Limited is involved in the commercial and industrial construction sectors of Newfoundland and Labrador as general contractors, project managers and developers for design-build/lease construction.
