Halifax Water is hiring for the job of Project Engineer (Infrastructure Planning). This is a regular opportunity in the Infrastructure Planning Section of the Engineering and Technology Services Department and has full time hours.

What the Infrastructure Planning Team does:

  • Manage and initiate water, wastewater, and stormwater capital projects at Halifax Water.
  • Provides leadership in Halifax Water by delivering services that protect public health and the environment through the planning and preliminary design of capital projects.
  • Responsible for the planning and design of capital projects in support of water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure.

Working in Infrastructure Planning, you will:

  • Focus on the planning of projects in support of Halifax Water's long-term plans as established in the Infrastructure Master Plan from the Integrated Resource Plan.

To do this job, you need:

  • A post-secondary education in Engineering (civil, municipal, process or environmental).
  • A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
  • Five years of progressively responsible related experience in an engineering field (water, wastewater or stormwater).
  • Ideally have project management experience.
  • A valid NS driver's license.
