What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure Services, as a member of the Infrastructure Services team, you will be responsible for the planning, maintenance, development, and support of new and existing applications to enhance the efficiency of the College. This position requires knowledge of DevOps operations; versatility in working with in PowerShell, ASP, IIS,web based forms, technical report design, and system modifications; and creativity in producing various developments to enhance existing internal system functionality in an enterprise environment.

Your specific duties will include development of system specifications; coding; technical design documentation; unit testing; troubleshooting; participating with project leads in project planning and scheduling; estimating programming resource requirements; improving existing, or contributing to the development of, new programming techniques and applications; as well as other related duties.

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this opportunity include a two-year diploma in information technology or related discipline, with five years of recent and related experience; OR a degree in computer science or related discipline, with three years of recent and related experience. Related experience must include programming in an enterprise environment, and using application technologies such as HTML, C#, JavaScript, CSS, Visual Studio, IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, ASP.NET, PeopleSoft, T-SQ, PowerShell, LAMP stack, and PHP/ASP Frameworks. Experience performing interface designs is also desirable. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Candidates who meet the required qualifications will be invited to testing as part of the assessment process.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Preference may be given to candidates working with PowerShell, C#, ASP.NET, and web applications; who have experience working in a post-secondary environment; and PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $1,709 to $2,382 bi-weekly. This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees – Information Technology collective agreement for the College.
