The Opportunity
Prestige Homes, a division of The Shaw Group Limited has an exciting opportunity for a passionate Home Designer to join our talented, driven, and fast-growing Design team. In this role, you will work in collaboration with our team of industry leaders on several projects related to design and construction of residential homes. You will have the opportunity to apply innovative concepts to our residential designs while working closely with our Design & Quality team to create and maintain product records and ensure products meet applicable codes and standards.
What you'll do
Responsibilities
The Programmer & Content Developer is responsible for designing, writing, testing, and maintaining the code and parameters for various applications used throughout the organization. They will use their creativity to analyze and develop new systems for improving the efficiency and accuracy of information. The Programmer & Content Developer will also be responsible for creating and maintaining the Building Information Modeling (BIM) library for Prestige Homes' 3D modeling and CNC applications.
- Develop, test, and maintain code for custom MS Office Suite, AutoCAD and other application macros.
- Develop and maintain BIM library & CNC parameters for Revit, Mozaik and Mitek software.
- Troubleshoot programming glitches, assist other departments with technical matters and implement improvements.
- Collaborate and innovate cross-functionally on how to improve various processes.
- Create learning tools and instructions for users
- Technical liaison with external IT support.
- Stay up to speed on latest technological trends and opportunities.
What you'll need
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree, Diploma or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Architecture, Software Development or relevant field
- 3+ years' experience in a programming or computer technology environment.
- Strong computer skills in C++, C#, Visual Basic, Java, SQL, HTML along with common office programs such as MS Office suite and Adobe Acrobat.
- 3D modeling, SketchUp, AutoCAD and/or Revit would be considered an asset.
- Aptitude for learning new technologies
- Strong attention to detail, communication, planning and organizational skills

This is where our skilled employees precision-engineer modules (sections) of homes to be delivered to the home site, where they are then fitted together and roofing, siding, drywall and flooring are installed.
