The Scotiabank Centre, managed by Events East Group, is the largest multipurpose facility in Atlantic Canada, serving as the region's premier venue for major entertainment and sporting events and the nucleus of major event activity in Nova Scotia. Having hosted the world's top performers, homegrown talent, best in class athletes and many performers in between, Scotiabank Centre has been a source for community vibrancy and pride for over 35 years. With a seating capacity of more than 10,000 and the versatility to accommodate a range of events, Scotiabank Centre hosts close to 500,000 attendees each year and is home to the Halifax Mooseheads, Halifax Thunderbirds Lacrosse and the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo.

THE POSITION:

Events East Group is now inviting applications for the position of Premium Seating Associate with our Guest Experience team.

Reporting to the Guest Experience Manager, the Premium Seating Associates are responsible for delivering a seamless premium experience to our Box and Suite owners as well as our Club Level ticket holders at the Scotiabank Centre.

The Premium Seating Team is the first point of contact as our guests enter Premium Seating. The Premium Seating Associate is an empowered and engaged ambassador that provides intuitive and elevated service by continuously observing, speaking to, and learning from our guests and adapting their experience. The Premium Seating Associate responds to event related inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner while providing wayfinding to guests and the public within the building. This team of associates also monitors compliance with current venue policies and monitors guest activity for safety and soft security considerations, escalating as appropriate.

THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain strong guest relationships with Box, Suite, and Club Seat members.
  • Provide warm, anticipatory service with a personalized and curated guest experience.
  • Manage and operate public entrances and exits, including screening functions of the Premium Seating area by greeting, directing, and announcing clients, guests, and visitors in a friendly and engaging manner.
  • Assist visitors and guests in wayfinding; support movement of guests during events as required.
  • Communicate with Event Operations teams (event management, security and building services to ensure the safe and successful delivery of events.
  • Ensure that the Premium Seating area remains clean, tidy, and free of obstacles.
  • Understand Events East Emergency Procedures, evacuation procedures, and help during emergency responses where necessary.

THE PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to communicate clearly in English
  • Ability to operate basic technology (use of computer, cell phone, radio, etc.)
  • 2 years of customer service experience.
  • High level of understanding and comfort serving a diverse range of clients, guests, patrons, and staff.
  • Knowledge of the tourism and hospitality sector of Halifax, its shops, restaurants, events and attractions are considered an asset.

THE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Long periods standing, ascending, and descending stairs.
  • Ability to move throughout the facility, sometimes quickly.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with variable conditions including loud noise, heights, and dark/dim lighting.
  • Must be available to work long shifts 10 - 12 hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Events East

We manage and operate the Halifax Convention Centre, Scotiabank Centre and Ticket Atlantic. Created as part of a government partnership between the Province of Nova Scotia and Halifax Regional Municipality, we work in collaboration with them to manage our business in a responsible and transparent manner.

We were established in 2014 through legislation to operate, maintain and manage the activities of the Halifax Convention Centre in a manner that will promote and develop economic development, tourism and industry in the Province generally, and the Municipality.

Effective April 1, 2017, our mandate expanded to include the continued management and operations of Scotiabank Centre and Ticket Atlantic, formerly under Trade Centre Limited (TCL).
