Acre Architects is seeking a Practice Manager to become a core team member who will provide outstanding organization and leadership to our growing practice. As the Practice Manager you are a generalist who is familiar with all areas of the business and can coordinate processes and operations across the organization. The practice manager must speak the languages of finance and accounting, operations, communications and promotion, human resources, and statistics. The individual will be accountable for providing effective management and support to the leadership team to achieve strategic and operational goals. They will play a key role in all aspects of coordinating operations, ensuring a high level of business performance and championing the organization's vision, mission, and values at all levels.

This critical role requires a goal-oriented individual with sound fiscal responsibility, demonstrated leadership abilities in working with their team, clients, board members and community partners.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Become the first point of contact of the Acre - encompassing the vision, mission, and values in all communications and operations
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the practice; providing leadership, oversight and strategic direction for operations and administration
  • Assist in developing strategies and implementation plans to improve and standardize all aspects of operation
  • Coordinate and manage all administrative matters in creating a supportive work environment, i.e. phones, IT, scheduling, continuing education credit reporting, special event coordination, general office management, etc.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Participate and assist in the project billing process, accounts payable, etc.

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary Education or equivalent years of relevant experience
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills and basic accounting experience
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • An engaged attitude with the ability to handle multiple assignments and see them through to execution
  • Ability to step in and support the team as required
  • High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information
  • Strategic planner/thinker, with the ability to execute initiatives and develop operational standards
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities with a proactive approach
  • Outstanding communication and people skills
  • An analytical mind, with attention to detail and the ability to make impromptu decisions
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • Familiarity with MS Office and various business software
  • A demonstrated interest, background or experience in architecture would be considered an asset
  • Class 5 driver's license
