Position Overview:

The Operations Coordinator (OC) will be primarily responsible for enhancing client relations and communications through ensuring internal tools and systems enable the team to effectively deliver on client relationships. The OC will be a key player in the organization and operation of the organization, using their administrative, management, and research skills to deliver on strategic initiatives as well as facilitate the administration of the Board of Directors.

The OC will be responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing operations of the marketing, communications, and customer relations management system. The OC will be the brand champion for Develop Saint John helping to ensure both the mission and values are portrayed while producing the desired outcome for the team. The OC will interact effectively with other parts of the organization.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a database of all available assets and key relationships.
  • Champion the Develop Saint John Brand, ensuring the culture of the organization is represented in all forms of communication by all team members.
  • Work collaboratively with the City of Saint John’s communication team and other community partners to collectively enhance the brand to improve consumer and investor confidence.
  • Development and execution of a client relations plan (social media, CRM, etc.).
  • Administer effectively the operations of the Develop Saint John office, including a variety of standard administrative and office management duties such as reception, filing, copying, etc.
  • Manage and report on the budget for administrative, communications, and marketing efforts.
  • Delivering, monitoring, documenting and reporting of the organization's social media activities.
  • Writing, editing, producing, and maintaining content for the website.
  • Produce email campaigns, blogging, press releases, etc.
  • Creating and editing presentation material, marketing, and sales collateral.
  • Proofreading material such as articles, press releases, and all communication material.
  • Tracking of events, advertisements, and other relationship building activities.
  • Managing of Develop Saint John event set up and tear down.
  • Administration of Board meetings, including agendas, minutes, communication, etc.
  • Other duties or responsibilities as required or requested.

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary degree, diploma or certificate in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications or a relevant area of study.
  • Minimum of three (3) years proven experience in a client relations and management capacity.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of marketing, client relations and management principles
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong business relationships and be approachable and possess a positive attitude
  • Ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff is essential
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to quickly and easily flow from general administrative tasks to high-level strategic tasks
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge and experience in digital and social media tools – stay in touch with our clients through social media
  • Impeccable professional writing, including: strong grammar; style; voice; and consistency with content
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with a team
  • Requirements gathering and facilitation of stakeholder inputs for online and offline needs
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet pressing deadlines
  • Attention to detail and quality assurance
  • Bilingual (English / French) is an asset
