NBCC is embarking on an unprecedented renewal of its information technology infrastructure and governance in support of NBCC's business objectives and strategic plan and is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the full-time position of Network Administrator (Senior Technical Analyst). This opportunity can be based out of any of our locations across New Brunswick.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

What you will be working on:

You will be collaborating under the leadership of the Manager of Infrastructure and Cybersecurity; you will provide solid customer service, a positive attitude, and have an ability to work with others.

You are viewed as the glue and a bridge amongst various levels of IT support staff. You demonstrate a strong ownership towards your responsibilities and have an enthusiastic approach and an ability to give and receive technical advice.

  • Collaborating with various service providers, diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues
  • Preparing and maintain operational procedures manuals
  • Conducting research into techniques and trends in various infrastructure technologies
  • Managing security and access to NBCC information technology
  • Providing technical leadership in projects, problem solving, and deployments.
  • Adhering to all service management best practices adopted by the Information Technology group (ex ITIL - Best Practices) as well as follow established processes and procedures
  • Diagnosing and troubleshoot network issues escalated through the support tiers

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • Diploma in Information Technology OR a bachelor's degree in Computer Science
  • Recent and related work experience
  • Related work experience must include supporting IT Infrastructure and Information Security in a System Administration or a System Administrator role.
  • Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent

  • Cisco networking
  • Fortinet Next Generation firewalls
  • Enterprise Wi-Fi
  • VPN
  • WAN/LAN
  • Proficiency with common tasks and concepts such as packet sniffing, versatility with PowerShell based scripts and solutions, and Information Security focus is a must.
  • (Preferential consideration) Knowledge of technologies such as Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Secure Internet Gateways (DNS Threat protection)

This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NBUPPE - Information Technology collective agreement for the College.
