We are active searching for a Mold Setter to join our Maintenace team in Richibucto, NB. This position is primarily day shift, however, the candidate must be flexible to work evenings and weekends to cover vacations.

The position is $15/hour and after sucessful completion of probation, the hourly rate increases to $16/hour. 

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Changing mold on plastic processing machines depending on production needs;
  • Reading die setting board and following shift priorities to determine changeover schedule
  • Working on production when not required as a mold setter
  • Adjusting and tweaking molds and the plastic processing machines to ensure efficiency, safety, productivity
  • Inspecting changes and doing test runs to ensure the mold and the machine is functioning efficiently, and safely
  • Monitoring molds in operation continuously, to prevent damage and ensure efficiency and minimal stress on machines
  • Moving the molds in the division with the head of the overhead mobile crane
  • Ensuring cycle times on machines are where they should be by monitoring them constantly, reporting any variations to lead hand, cell leader or supervisor
  • Performing constant quality inspections of products currently in production to ensure well running of presses
  • Following all safety rules while operating overhead crane, and doing inspection checklist before use
  • Performing all other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

  • Must be able to follow safe work practices
  • Being mechanically inclined and working experience using mechanical skills
  • Being able to function well in a team environment and having good communication skills
  • Possessing good problem-solving, organizational, and effective time management skills
  • Having an ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Having ability and understanding of measurement units, tools, and the measuring itself
  • Able to work under minimal supervision
  • Being able to deal with conflicting demands/ stress
  • Having ability to lift loads of up to 50 lbs
