Responsibilities

The Member Services Assistant is a member of a team of fitness, recreational and athletic professionals who strive to provide quality programs and opportunities for the Mount and our surrounding community. Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Recreation and the Manager, Promotions & Member Services, the Member Services Assistant is responsible for the daily operations of the Mount Fitness Centre, providing customer service and administrative support, membership and program registration using a facility software system, quality control of member accounts, office management, daily risk assessments, guidance, and direction of workflow to student staff. This position also assists the Manager, Promotions & Member Services in daily tasks.

The Member Services Assistant is also the first point of contact for the Mount Fitness Centre, and manages the day-to-day operations of the Fitness Centre Desk, responds to phone and in-person inquiries, provides information on membership and program offerings, supports students, staff, faculty and community members registering or inquiring about the Centre's programs. The position is responsible for reporting inaccuracies and recommendations to the Athletics & Recreation team, applies records management processes, maintains timelines, data integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of client accounts and is responsible to maintain accurate program registration, which includes financial processing and auditing, and preparing reports on programs. The Member Services Assistant conducts daily risk assessments within the sport and fitness environment, is the first responder to incidents within the Mount Fitness Centre and is responsible for activating the Emergency Action Plan, including Code Adam, when required. The Member Services Assistant is also the Day Camp Registrar and is a key member of the Day Camp Management Team.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have completed at minimum, a 2-year diploma in Recreation and/or Sport Management with one year of related experience. Candidates must be computer literate and possess strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Experience and knowledge of the fitness industry is an asset. The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is a must. Candidates should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, and have an aptitude for, or previous experience using Facility software systems such as Legend or PerfectMind.
