Our Marketing Strategist leads the development and execution of uptreeHR's marketing and brand strategy. This includes management of all social media accounts, website brand alignment, and increasing market exposure through networking online and offline. Reporting to the CEO, the incumbant must be able to work independantly and manage a marketing budget. It is expected that this role be 10-15 hours per week.

Interest from marketing freelancers and/or consultants is welcomed!

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Review and maintain our marketing strategy to ensure relevance, effectiveness and maximum business impact.
  • Create and schedule social media posts including graphic creation and post content.
  • Grow social media following through online interaction and networking.
  • Stay informed on HR trends and hot topics.
  • Work with website designer to ensure site is on brand and up to date with service offerings.
  • Ensure marketing opportunities are being maximized through community partners. This may include proposals for speaking events, articles or other parterned promotions.
  • Occasionally attending networking events or assisting with events sponsored by uptreeHR.

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in Marketing is preferred
  • Marketing experience in a service based business is ideal
  • An interest or experience in the human resource industry is an asset
  • Experience with graphic design software (ie: Canva) and scheduling software such as Hootesuite is preferred.
  • Must be able to work independantly
  • Must have a proven ability to develop creative solutions and drive them forward.

Preference will be given to those residing in the Halifax region.

We are a small team that operates approximately 90% virtually which provides lots of flexiblity and ownership of our time. We enjoy connecting in-person at least once a month whether is a strategy meeting, team building event or simply meeting for lunch.

We work with several types of clients over various industries including tech, engineering, publishing, insurance, construction and cannabis. We focus on the customer experience and adding value to our client organizations through education and support.
