Atlantic Lottery (AL) is seeking a Marketing Optimization Analyst, based in Moncton, NB, Halifax, NS, or St. John's, NL.

As the Marketing Optimization Analyst, you provide financial and accounting support through in-depth analysis of all pertinent financial data to support optimal financial-related decision making for the Marketing, Product & Channel teams. This will entail leveraging systems to prepare and analyze financial results for budgeting, forecasting and cost optimization purposes; presenting financials and interfacing regularly with senior leadership to help achieve business goals. You are responsible for the coordination of department level activities and processes for planning, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting efforts.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Process and Administration: Responsible for executing Brand & Communications, Product and Channel's budgeting and projection processes. These include vendor estimate processing, purchase requisitions, purchase order management, reconciliation and receiving of invoices, reporting and analysis. Responsible for ensuring Marketing's financial processes are documented and adhered to. Ensure adherence to best practices regarding purchase requisitions, invoicing, accruals, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within the department. Consult and advise on ad-hoc inquiries for requisitions and invoice receipt, billing and expense reports issues; investigate, recommend solutions and provide feedback on status.

Reporting/Analysis: In collaboration with Finance, ensure financial reporting and analysis needs are addressed through the availability of timely and accurate reports driven by the appropriate financial source of record. Lead financial analysis and control of Marketing budgets. Implement, prepare and analyze accurate financial performance reports and identify key trends that may impact future financial performance; develop financial variance reports and present monthly financials to leadership. Deliver regular Executive financial summaries highlighting variances, risks and opportunities to support effective decision making. Be an active team member providing relevant input and analysis to facilitate making timely decisions, including benefits realization.
Financial Quality Assurance: Understand departmental cost structures and identify opportunities within budgets to drive optimization. Responsible for support to the Marketing, Product and Channel teams to ensure budget targets are met and continuously improved. Oversee key financial activities and perform quality assessments on the accuracy of the information being provided. Evaluate the results and provide process improvement recommendations related to management of budget expenses. Develop reporting for quality metrics and targets. Integrate quality standards into vendor processes where necessary.
Coaching/Training/Support: Responsible for providing Marketing, Product and Channel teams with support, training and coaching as it relates to financial accounting needs, processes, tools and availability of pertinent financial information. Serve as a trusted advisor to Marketing, Product and Channel management and work closely with members of the Finance and Supply Chain Management teams to ensure effective cross team collaboration and awareness of financial status, risks and opportunities.

  • Tact when dealing with sensitive situations and ensuring confidentiality and;
  • Desire to build exceptional client experiences and is passionate and curious to help clients meet their needs and solve their concerns.

  • Someone who has a strong ability to communicate and collaborate with business leaders to understand plans and tactics and translate them into financial requirements, with keen awareness of their impacts to the business;
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Sharepoint);
  • Someone who has the ability to multi-task, problem-solve, prioritize and competently handle a variety of activities with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment;
  • A self-starter and an independent thinker who follow-up on responsibilities in a timely manner while also a strong team player;
  • Your decisions are always made with the player in mind and;
  • You can adapt to change in a nimble & agile fashion.

  • A university degree or diploma in business, commerce or a combination of relevant industry experience.
  • 5 years+ experience in roles that require analytical skills (financial, operational, etc.)
