Connections is the global networking and event organiser exclusively for senior executives and experts in Luxury, Wellness and Meetings and Adventure Travel. We bring hand-picked leaders from the industry together to do business over 4 continents, with up to 6 events a year.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, articulate, creative, versatile and enthusiastic team player. You will have good marketing and PR experience and already be operating at a senior level, ideally in the events, travel or hospitality industries.

This role will be office based in Victoria, London, but will involve extensive networking at various events, both in the UK and overseas. Our sales team are selling event participation to global luxury companies wanting to do business in international markets. The ability to work on the go is therefore essential, as you will be the driving force in supporting the sales effort.

The ability to build rapport with potential and existing customers and partners is vital. Experience of working with journalists would be an advantage.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all marketing activity for the company
  • Work very closely with the sales team to deliver on promises
  • Keep abreast of market developments, identifying, and researching new growth areas
  • Developing the marketing strategy for the company in line with company objectives
  • Prepare online and print marketing campaigns using in-house resources. This will include managing the website, writing blogs and sales bulletins
  • Create a wide range of marketing materials
  • Produce marketing reports in a timely manner for all interested parties. This will include internal departments and external stakeholders
  • Maintain effective internal communication to ensure that everyone is kept informed of marketing objectives
  • Work closely with journalists from Travel Weekly
  • Attend Connections events and competitor events, both domestically and internationally, to meet editors and publishers in order to develop new relationship as well as maintain existing ones.
  • Develop new partnerships with external stakeholders, including preferred hotel chains
  • Engage with agency associations to investigate ways to form and strengthen business relationships and gain more exposure for the Connections brand
  • Contribute to the Connections team in identifying new potential opportunities or business partners that will lead to the expansion of the Connections portfolio

What you'll need

Qualifications

This position requires a self-motivated and confident marketing professional who can demonstrate:

  • Strong marketing experience in a relevant environment (networking events, luxury travel, hotels industry etc)
  • Ability to negotiate with senior industry executives to identify opportunities to enhance the Connections brand, in reputation and participation
  • A background in the B2B environment
  • Excellent communication skills, especially with written English
  • Good media relationships
  • Creativity and initiative and the ability to work in a fast moving environment
  • Ability to think laterally
  • Confident in their ability to meet any challenge
  • The candidate will be a self-motivated team player with a determined and mature approach
